About Aaron

From awe inspiring grand landscapes to the stunning creations of man, and from
the beauty of nature to the wonders of wildlife, the world around us amazes me.
It is this amazement that makes me want to photograph our world. My art
photography mainly focuses on landscapes, cityscapes, nature and wildlife.

I believe that my photographs should convey to the viewer, in a natural way, the
beauty and wonder of the scene as if he or she was standing there with me. With
that in mind, each photograph is carefully selected – both before I shoot it and
after I process it – to ensure it properly conveys the emotion of the scene.

Ansel Adams once said, "Some photographers take reality... and impose the
domination of their own thought and spirit. Others come before reality
more tenderly and a photograph to them is an instrument of love and revelation."

It is that second viewpoint that I strive for (and hopefully obtain) in my work.

My photography travels havetaken me to Sedona's Red Rock Country, Antelope Canyon,
Grand Canyon National Park and the Navajo Nation in Arizona; Acadia National Park on the
coast in Maine; Bryce Canyon National Park, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National
Park, Monument Valley and Zion National Park in Utah; Rocky Mountain National Park in
Colorado; San Francisco, Big Sur, Joshua Tree National Park and Yosemite National Park in California; Dolly Sods in West Virginia; Washington, DC; and London, Salisbury and
Stonehenge in Great Britain; and the Golan Heights, Negev and Mediterranean
coast in Israel.

I shoot with both digital and film camera systems. My digital photographs are shot
with a Canon EOS Digital SLR camera. Currently I am shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II
and a Canon 7D.  For film, I shoot with a Wista 45DX large format field camera. When I
shoot film, I use Fuji Velvia slide film, which, after it is developed, is scanned and then
digitally processed.

Each photo is carefully color corrected and processed before being printed on
professional quality Kodak or Ilford photographic paper at a top quality photo lab.
